Founded by Muliadi Merry, a passionate Principal Engineer with 25+ years of experience and proven track records of timely, on budget quality project delivery, MM Geomechanics has been established on the principles of serving clients with excellence and helping clients achieve their project goals and objectives within the specified timeframe and budget.
Muliadi is a Professional Chartered Engineer (CPEng) and on the registry for National Engineers (NER) within the field of Civil Engineering. Muliadi is a Fellow of Engineers Australia (FIEAust) and a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
As an AusAID scholarship recipient, Muliadi studied at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), where he gained his Master’s Degree majoring in the field of Geomechanics with emphasis on highly stressed underground structures and 3D numerical modelling using the computer software EXAMINE3D. Muliadi was a tunnel engineer upon graduation. Muliadi’s fascination with multifaceted design, coupled with his communication skills, has later led him to become a project leader for a wide range of transport and infrastructure projects throughout New South Wales over many years. Overall, his experience spans over 25 years. His country experience includes Asia Pacific, United States of America and United Arab Emirates.
His road upgrade experience includes but are not limited to WestConnex, NorthConnex, Portion B Pacific Highway, M4 Smart Motorway, M1 to Raymond Terrace Extension, New Dubbo Bridge, Spring Farm Parkway Stage 1, M1 Smart Motorway, Fifteenth Avenue Smart Transit Corridor Strategy, Rickard Road and Ingleburn Road upgrade, Maitland Bay Drive and Picnic Parade Intersection upgrade projects.
Muliadi previously collaborated with Transport for New South Wales (formerly Roads and Maritime Services) through a technical research on ground anchors for highway applications. Forming part of this technical research, Muliadi has been reviewing local and worldwide guidelines on ground anchors and case studies in preparation for a status report outlining the issues of concern in relation to the long-term performance of ground anchors.
His rail design experience is equally unrivalled, demonstrated by his extensive involvements in major light rail, heavy rail and freight rail projects, namely Sydney Metro, Sydney Light Rail, Canberra Light Rail, Glenfield Junction Alliance, South West Rail Link, Southern Sydney Freight Line, Southern Freight Link, Railway Corridor Protection Works and Dubai Metro.
Muliadi has worked at many specialist geotechnical companies and Tier 1 multidisciplinary engineering consultants throughout New South Wales, and established a sound working relationship with contractors, councils and local governing bodies. He has served in the capacity of Project Director, Project and Design Manager, and Discipline Leader for many multimillion site investigation and detailed design projects, all of which are successfully delivered, on time and within budget, due to his significant contributions.
Muliadi has also worked in the building and construction industry. His project portfolio includes tall buildings Burj Al Arab and Burj Khalifa. Since the establishment of MM Geomechanics in 2016, Muliadi has successfully delivered 150+ building and construction projects in Metropolitan Sydney stretching from south to north and from west to east. Muliadi is well known to the local councils including but not limited to City of Canada Bay, City of Ryde, Inner West Council, Woollahra Municipal Council, Willoughby Council, Canterbury and Bankstown Council, Liverpool City Council, Camden Council and Sutherland Shire Council. Recent project wins have also resulted in work expansions in Central Coast and Wollongong areas.
